NHL Rumors: 2 Sharks Who Could Be Traded Before Season
The San Jose Sharks are undoubtedly a team to keep a very close eye on for the remainder of this off-season. With the club rebuilding and now having a surplus of defensemen, it would not be surprising in the slightest if we see them move out a blueliner before the start of the campaign.
Because of this, let's take a look at two Sharks players who are standing out as prime trade candidates this off-season.
Timothy Liljegren
Liljegren's name has been floating around the rumor mill this summer, so he very well could be on the move before the season is here. The 26-year-old defenseman is also entering the final season of his contract and is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA), so he could be a player the Sharks are willing to part ways with if they do not view him as a long-term part of their future. He could be a nice pickup for a team looking for help on the right side of their bottom pairing.
Mario Ferraro
Ferraro is another Sharks defenseman who has been creating plenty of chatter as a trade candidate. His name has been popular in the rumor mill since this past trade deadline, and there is no question that several teams would love to add him to their roster. This is because he is a steady top-four defenseman who has an affordable $3.25 million cap hit until the end of the next season.
