Team USA Invites 44 Players to Olympic Orientation Camp

What a day for the Hughes family.

Team USA named 44 players to their 2026 Olympic orientation camp, and all three Hughes brothers, Luke, Jack, and Quinn were invited to the camp. The camp runs August 26-27 in Plymouth, Michigan.

It's an off-ice orientation camp, with some light workouts and a whole lot of classroom time about the history of Team USA and what to expect at next year's Olympics.

Luke Hughes is among some of the surprising picks of the 44 players, and the same can be said for Alex Vlasic of the Chicago Blackhawks, Bryan Rust of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Conor Garland of the Vancouver Canucks, and Joey Daccord of the Seattle Kraken.

Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel, Charlie McAvoy, and brothers Brady and Matthew Tkachuk are among the big names on the board. However, Matthew Tkachuk will not be in attendance in Plymouth and he continues to rehab some injuries from last season.

It will be fun to see how Team USA's goaltending plays out as Connor Hellebuyck will likely be given first crack at the starter's net, with Jake Oettinger and Jeremy Swayman chomping at the bit to get the crease. If Swayman can return to form, now with his contract battle behind him, there's certainly a chance Team USA's goaltending is as fluid as they come.
