3 Bruins Entering Their Final Year With The Team

Pavel Zacha, Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins are looking for a big rebound season now that they appear healthier, but the team also looks even weaker than it did. There is a lot they will likely have to overcome to be in contention for a playoff spot, but if they're bad, they will sell, and we will see changes by next offseason regardless.

Joonas Korpisalo

This one may be cheating, but if the Bruins really don't want to lose Michael DiPietro, the younger goalie will make the team and Joonas Korpisalo will be the odd man out. That is if he isn't traded before the season. He didn't get the playing time he wanted or even deserved last season and the Bruins are reportedly looking for a place to move him. His contract doesn't make it easy as he has a cap hit of $3 million AAV for three more years, but one way or another, the Bruins will go with Jeremy Swayman and DiPietro.

Viktor Arvidsson

Viktor Arvidsson was moved over from the Edmonton Oilers this summer and I think he should fit in decently well. Shockingly, he looks to be one of the better pieces on the team despite a tough 2024-25 season. He is headed into the last year of his deal, and while there is probably the best chance he re-signs due to the lack of efficient forwards, he could just as likely struggle on a bad team and test free agency for a different opportunity of his choosing.

Pavel Zacha

The Bruins are likely not going to be a good team, so that means a name like Pavel Zacha will continue to surround trade rumors. That has been one of the noisiest names all summer even though it doesn't make sense for the team to trade him before the season. But if the Bruins are out of it, Zacha's value will be high and they will have to figure out their forward group from there. He has two more years at $4.75 million AAV, which is very reasonable, and whichever team decides to target him, will get that extra year as well.
