Breaking: Connor Ingram's Days with Utah Mammoth Are Done
After losing his job as the starting goalie last season with the Utah Mammoth after taking a month's leave in November/December, Connor Ingram's time in Salt Lake has come to an end. He will not be at training camp, as the team looks to facilitate a trade.

Armstrong says they plan to eventually place him on waivers.
GM Bill Armstrong said they will place him on waivers, with the hopes of finding him a job with another NHL team. If that doesn't happen, he'll likely be playing in the AHL.
Karel Vejmelka took over the starter's role last season, and the Mammoth signed backup Vitek Vanecek to a free agent deal this offseason. They would seem to be set to be the Mammoth’s goalie tandem this season. BUT — as noted today by insider Marco D'Amico, could this move be an opening for the Mammoth to sign Carter Hart? They have been one of the teams linked to him.
As for Ingram, it's been a difficult ride over the past year. He took that month's leave in December to mourn the passing of his mother. He then entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program in March, and was just cleared last month to return to play.
Ingram also entered the player assistance program in 2021 for an alcohol problem. He emerged successfully and won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 2024 for perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.
Ingram had a nice season as the starter for the Arizona Coyotes in 2023-24, posting a 2.91 goals against average, a .907 save percentage and a league-leading six shutouts.
But the move to Utah was not something that worked out for him. Last season, he was 9-8-4 in 22 games with a 3.27 goals-against average and .882 save percentage.
He's entering the final year of a three-year deal with a $1.95 million cap hit. With the need for goaltending around the league, it would seem that some team will reach out and take a chance on giving Ingram a look.
