Ryan spent this past season with the Edmonton Oilers, where he posted one goal, five assists, six points, and 25 hits in 36 games. He also appeared in 13 American Hockey League (AHL) games this past season with the Bakersfield Condors, where he had three goals, five assists, and eight points in 13 games.
Ryan spent each of his final four seasons as a member of the Oilers. In 261 games with the Oilers over that span, he recorded 29 goals, 31 assists, 60 points, and an even plus/minus rating.
Ryan kicked off his NHL career with the Carolina Hurricanes during the 2015-16, where he was 29 years old. Not too many players crack the NHL at nearly 30, but he successfully did and had a long career in the process, which is impressive.
In 606 career NHL games over 10 seasons split between the Hurricanes, Calgary Flames, and Oilers, Ryan recorded 82 goals, 127 assists, 209 points, and a plus-14 rating. His best season was in 2017-18, when he set career highs with 15 goals and 38 points in 80 games with the Hurricanes.
