Seattle Kraken: Best Addition & Worst Subtraction Of 2025 NHL Offseason
The NHL season is just about here, which is undoubtedly exciting news for hockey fans. Due to this, we here at NHL Trade Rumors will be starting a series looking at each team's best addition and worst subtraction of the 2025 NHL off-season.
In this latest edition of the series, let's take a look at the Seattle Kraken.
Best Addition: Mason Marchment
With the Dallas Stars needing to free up cap space, the Seattle Kraken took advantage and acquired Mason Marchment for only a 2026 third-round pick and a 2025 fourth-round pick. With this move, the Kraken have added another top-six winger to their roster without needing to give up too much in the process. Marchment appeared in 62 games this past season for Dallas, where he had 22 goals and 47 points in 62 games.
Worst Subtraction: Andre Burakovsky
While Andre Burakovsky's contract was not the best, he is the Kraken's most notable offseason departure. In 79 games this past season with the Kraken, he recorded 10 goals and 37 points in 79 games. He should now be a solid part of the Chicago Blackhawks' top six as they continue their rebuild.
