5 Potential Trade Destinations for Calgary Flames' Nazem Kadri

The Calgary Flames are in sell mode at the moment and it's a tough spot to be considering ownership isn't interested in a full tear down, considering the team is opening a new arena in a couple of seasons. Meanwhile, GM Craig Conroy has been busy involved in trade conversations, and it turns out the Flames best player, Nazem Kadri, is open to being moved.

Kadri, 35, is signed through the 2028-29 season at $7 million AAV, and owns a 13-team no-trade list, so he'll have some say in the matter. Kadri's appeared in 54 games this season for the Flames, scoring nine goals and adding 26 assists, for 35 points. He's averaging 19:29 of ice-time per game, and is winning just under 50% of his faceoffs.

On a contending team, Kadri is the perfect complement second-line center, who can play an in your face two-way game, while also contributing to secondary scoring. He's a proven Stanley Cup champion, and it sounds like, there's serious potential a reunion of sorts could be in the near future.

The Colorado Avalanche are heavily interested in Kadri, and there's certainly been some level of conversations between the two clubs. The Carolina Hurricanes are also interested, and have reached out to Conroy about the asking price.

Three other teams to keep an eye on include the Montreal Canadiens, Dallas Stars and Detroit Red Wings. All three teams are in a playoff spot, and appear to be buyers ahead of this season's trade deadline. The Stars would love to reunite Kadri with Mikko Rantanen for the next few years in Dallas.

One thing to consider here is Artemi Panarin of the New York Rangers, who has been taken out of the lineup while trade talks ramp up. Once Panarin gets dealt, which could involve the teams already mentioned, Kadri is the fallback option.
