St. Louis Blues Robert Thomas undergoes surgery, out several weeks
The St. Louis Blues are in the middle of trade conversations on several of their players, and it turns out, injuries could be playing a major role in just how much business they are able to finalize before the trade deadline. The team announced forward Robert Thomas underwent a minor surgery on his leg, and he'll be out until after the Olympic break.
Thomas, 26, is going through an up-and-down season, which has included a ton of trade rumors of late. He's managed to score 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points in 42 games this season. He originally hurt himself back on January 10, in a 4-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Thomas is under contract through the 2031 season at $8.1 million AAV, and owns a full no-trade clause. The Blues enter Sunday with a 20-26-9 record sitting, sitting second last in the Western Conference, and now that the Olympic roster is set, GM Doug Armstrong has turned all of his attention to figuring out how exactly to re-tool the Blues on the fly.

Thomas is a trade candidate, and there's been a ton of speculation that talks have advanced past the preliminary stage and some offers have been exchanged, but unless the Blues are blown away, Armstrong is in no rush to move one of his best players.
As far as other trades to expect out of St. Louis, Jordan Kyrou, Brayden Schenn, Justin Faulk, and Jordan Binnington are all in play, but to this point, the asking prices have been sky high, as Armstrong is running a hard bargain.
