NHL Rumors: 3 Trade Destinations for Canucks' Teddy Blueger
The Vancouver Canucks are currently at the bottom of the NHL standings with an 18-33-7 record. With this, they are one of the NHL's top sellers leading up to the 2026 trade deadline.
One Canucks player who has the potential to be traded ahead of the deadline is Teddy Blueger. The 31-year-old center is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) and should generate interest from clubs looking for help down the middle. Because of this, let's look at three teams that could look to acquire Bluger.
Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers could be a team to pay attention to when it comes to Blueger. It is no secret that the Oilers need to improve their bottom six at center, and bringing in a veteran like Blueger would do just that. If Edmonton acquired him, he could slot nicely as their new third-line center and would also be a clear option for their penalty kill.
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning are one of the NHL's best teams right now and should be big buyers because of it. One of their top needs is another impactful bottom-six forward, so it would not be surprising in the slightest if they made a push for Blueger. He would undoubtedly improve their depth and would also give them another solid two-way forward to work with.
Minnesota Wild
The Wild and Canucks already made a deal earlier this season with the Quinn Hughes blockbuster. Could they make another one, this time centering around Blueger? The Wild need all the help they can get at center. While Blueger would not give Minnesota another top-six center, he would have the potential to improve their bottom six if acquired.
