NHL Rumors: One Flames Player Not Getting Any Trade Interest
Even with his name tossed around as a possible trade candidate, the word is there’s just not much real traction on the 27-year-old right now, which says plenty about where his value sits around the league.
Yegor Sharangovich trade market is ice cold
A big part of it is timing, and a big part of it is the contract.
Sharangovich looked like a steal when he popped for 31 goals and 59 points in 2023-24, then Calgary locked him up early on a five-year deal at a $5.75 million cap hit.
Yegor Sharangovich makes a great pass to find Zach Whitecloud but he can't get a good shot off.

Since then, the numbers have slid to 17 goals and 32 points last season, and 11 goals with 20 points through 51 games this year, even while playing 16:07 a night with regular power play usage.
Add a 10-team no-trade list, and it's the kind of situation where teams call on other Flames first, then circle back only if Calgary gets desperate.
Calgary Flames sellers have other names drawing calls
Plenty of other names on the Flames are actually generating noise.
Nazem Kadri has reportedly let the Flames know he is open to a move, and teams like the Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens, Colorado Avalanche, and Minnesota Wild have all kicked tires before.
Blake Coleman has teams watching too, and there’s even been chatter about Mackenzie Weegar as a potential fit for the Ottawa Senators, though his full no-move makes that one tricky.
Yegor Sharangovich, extended 5x$5.75M by CGY, is a scoring winger. When the pucks are going in, he is terrific. When they don't go in, he is less useful. #Flames pic.twitter.com/TzuTiYyiut

After shipping Rasmus Andersson to the Vegas Golden Knights, Calgary’s phones are open again heading into the Olympic roster freeze on February 4 at 3 p.m. ET, but Sharangovich is sitting in that uncomfortable middle where the team would listen, and the league is not exactly lining up.
