3 Potential Trade Destinations for Flames' Blake Coleman
Calgary Flames forward Blake Coleman is one of the top trade candidates to watch in the NHL with the deadline rapidly approaching. The veteran forward should generate a ton of interest, as he is exactly the kind of player that playoff teams love to have.
Because of this, let's look at three teams that could look to acquire Coleman now.
Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens have been heavily linked to Coleman this season, so they are undoubtedly a team to watch in the sweepstakes. There is no question that they could use a hard-nosed veteran forward who contributes offensively in their top nine, and landing Coleman would provide them with just that. He would also give them another good option to work with on their penalty kill if acquired.
Dallas Stars
With Tyler Seguin officially ruled out for the remainder of regular season and the playoffs, they need to add another impactful forward. As a result of this, it would not be surprising in the slightest if the Stars looked to acquire Coleman. If the Stars brought in the Texas native, he would give their middle six a nice jolt due to his grit and secondary scoring ability.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Coleman was a big part of the Lightning's 2020 and 2021 Stanley Cup champion teams. When noting that they need more production from their third line, the possibility of them trying to reunite with Coleman should not be ruled out. He was a fantastic fit during his time in Tampa Bay, and he would be again if they successfully reacquired him.
