Predators 'Serious' About Trading Jonathan Marchessault
The Nashville Predators have indicated their willingness to join the selling brigade with a couple of deals already, but there still could be a bigger one afoot.
According to insiders everywhere, Jonathan Marchessault will almost certainly be on the move.
Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet:
I do believe there are serious efforts to find Jonathan Marchessault a new home.
Darren Dreger on Barn Burner podcast:
I think the Preds would trade Jonathan Marchessault as soon as they could find a partner; it's gotta be the right fit for his family.
David Pagnotta on NHL Network:
"Jonathan Marchessault’s name continues to pop up over the course of this week. We’ll see where that goes.. He’s got a full no-movement clause, but there's some indication he would waive it for the right contender. "
Marchessault himself didn't seem too pleased about the question when he was asked how he was handling the possibility of a trade out of Nashville after their game Thursday night:

"Obviously, they took a different approach at the deadline this year... I worked hard to put myself in a situation to have a no-move, so I have control over that."
To this point, as of early Friday morning, the Predators have dealt away forward Michael Bunting and defenseman Nick Blankenburg. Both are pending unrestricted free agents.
Marchessault was one of the big splashes the team made in the summer of 2024, when he signed a five-year, $5.5 million AAV free agent deal. Also signed at that time were defenseman Brady Skjei (seven years, $7M AAV), and the real stunner, Steven Stamkos (four years, $8M AAV).
For now, it doesn't appear as if Stamkos or center Ryan O'Reilly are going anywere, though teams are trying their hardest to convince GM Barry Trotz.
Nashville is still only three points out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
