The Kings receive a 2028 second-round pick in return.
We had heard earlier this week that Perry wasn't interested in moving at this deadline, but the Kings couldn't pass up that pick, as the team struggles to stay in the playoff hunt, sitting three points back of a Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
As for the Bolts, the early bird gets "The Worm". They add the pesky agitating forward who is still producing at the age of 40. He has 11 goals and 28 points this season in 50 games, his fifth straight season with double-digits in goals. He's also averaging a seven-year high 14:19 of ice time.
Perry has a nose for making his way to the Stanley Cup Finals, getting there five of the last six seasons (with Dallas, Montreal, Tampa and Edmonton), but unfortunately, he's been on the losing side in all five of those Finals. He does have one Cup ring from way back in his second season in 2007 with the Anaheim Ducks.
Tampa is on a four-game losing streak, and are now tied with the Buffalo Sabres for first place in the Atlantic Division.
