NHL Rumors: 2 Blackhawks Offseason Forward Trade Candidates

The Chicago Blackhawks were once again one of the worst teams in the NHL this season. This was not necessarily surprising, as they are still in the middle of a rebuild.

With the Blackhawks having so many promising young forward prospects, it would not be surprising if they moved on from some of their veterans this offseason. Because of this, let's look at two forwards who could end up being traded this summer by Chicago.

Teuvo Teravainen

Teravainen could be a veteran forward to watch in the rumor mill this offseason. The 31-year-old forward saw his playing time dip during the final stretch of the season, and he even spent time on their fourth line. However, he still had an okay year for Chicago, posting 14 goals and 35 points in 75 games. Due to this and his strong resume, there could be some teams interested in acquiring him for their middle six.

Ryan Donato

Donato could be another Blackhawks forward to keep an eye on this summer. The 30-year-old is exactly the kind of versatile forward that playoff teams love to have on their roster. Due to this, Chicago could get a decent return for him if they moved him. In 82 games this season, he had 15 goals and 30 points. This is after he set career highs with 31 goals, 31 assists, and 62 points in 80 games in 2024-25.
