NHL Rumors: 2 New Jersey Devils Defensemen Who Could Be Traded

The New Jersey Devils have some decisions to make when it comes to their roster this offseason. After missing the playoffs and disappointing in a major way, it would not be surprising if they look to shake up their group a bit.

The Devils have two defensemen on their roster who are standing out as prime trade candidates this offseason. Let's discuss each of them now.

Dougie Hamilton

It is no secret that Hamilton would like a change of scenery, and the Devils would like to move his contract. With this, he is a clear trade candidate to watch this summer. Teams looking for more offense from the point should consider making a push for Hamilton this offseason. In 77 games this season with the Devils, Hamilton had 12 goals, 27 assists, and 39 points.

Simon Nemec

Simon Nemec will be another trade candidate to keep an eye on from the Devils. The pending restricted free agent could be a player the Devils end up moving if it helps them land another star forward in their top six. If he is made available, several teams would love to acquire the 22-year-old defenseman. In 68 games this season, he had 11 goals, 15 assists, and 26 points.
