NHL Rumors: 3 Free-Agency Fits for Red Wings' Patrick Kane
Patrick Kane is one of the most notable pending unrestricted free agents (UFAs) heading into the summer. If the future Hall of Famer ends up hitting the market instead of re-signing with the Detroit Red Wings, he would generate a ton of interest.
Due to this, let's take a look at three teams that could sign Kane if he ends up being a UFA on July 1.
Colorado Avalanche
If Kane wants the chance to play for a top contender, it would make sense for him to sign with the Avalanche on a short-term deal. If the Avalanche signed him, he would be a strong fit in their middle six and on their power play. With this, he would give them another player with a ton of playoff experience, as his three Stanley Cup championships show.
Florida Panthers
The Panthers could be a team to watch when it comes to Kane this summer. If Kane is willing to take a discount to play in Florida, he would give them another high-impact winger to work with in their top nine. With the Panthers looking to bounce back from their tough season, it would make sense if they made a bold move and signed Kane this summer.
Carolina Hurricanes
The Hurricanes could also be a good landing spot for Kane. When looking at their roster, it would not hurt for them to add another skilled winger to their lineup. Bringing in Kane would provide them with just that, and it is likely that Kane would be open to the idea of playing for a Hurricanes club that is in its Stanley Cup window.
