NHL Rumors: 3 Flames Forwards Are Prime Trade Candidates

Blake Coleman, Flames

The Calgary Flames are in the middle of a rebuild. Due to this, they moved on from multiple veteran players this season, including Nazem Kadri, MacKenzie Weegar, and Rasmus Andersson. They should not be done making moves, either, as they have multiple players who could be on the move this offseason.

The Flames' forward group, in particular, has some trade candidates to watch this offseason. Let's take a look at them now.

Blake Coleman

Coleman is undoubtedly a trade candidate to watch this offseason from the Flames. The veteran forward was a popular trade candidate leading up to the 2026 NHL trade deadline. While he did not get moved, the Flames are expected to listen to offers for him again this summer. Teams in need of more scoring and grit in their middle six will be calling about Coleman.

Morgan Frost

Frost is entering the final season of his contract in 2026-27, so it would not be shocking in the slightest if the Flames make him available for trade. It is hard to see him being a long-term fit on the Flames, and he would have the potential to get them a decent return in a move. In 82 games this season, he had 22 goals and 43 points.

Ryan Strome

Strome could be another Flames forward to watch as a trade candidate. He notably heated up after being traded to Calgary, posting five goals and 12 points in 19 games. With this and his strong resume, he could generate some interest from teams looking for more offense on their third line.
