Vancouver Canucks Without Controversial Forward Due to Undisclosed Injury on Wednesday
It was reported today that the Vancouver Canucks will be missing forward Evander Kane in the lineup today.
Kane is a two-way forward who has made himself a viable top-six forward for multiple teams during the years, and found a home in Vancouver after being traded from the Edmonton Oilers for a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
The injury Kane is suffering from has been undisclosed, and the team whose undergoing a retool will miss his presence tonight.
His season looks a little underwhelming, due to his lackluster performance compared to recent years, scoring only 31 points (13-18) in 70 games with the Canucks.
Vancouver Canucks left wing Evander Kane (undisclosed) will sit out Wednesday's matchup with the Colorado Avalanche. The veteran power forward has recently been dealing with a health issue, and the team now plans to manage his workload. Kane scored in his 1,000th career game on Monday night against Vegas and has recorded 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) over 70 outings this season.
Kane recently played his 1,000th career game on Monday night against the Vegas Golden Knights, who were led by newly-minted coach John Tortorella.

The Canucks Go Full Tank Mode
The Canucks lost 4-2, but the veteran power-forward came away with a goal scored at 12:19 into the first period, assisted by Jake DeBrusk.
His absence will give Max Sasson a chance to play on Wednesday. Sasson has not been sharp lately, going seven consecutive appearances without a point, but he has totaled 11 goals and four assists in 60 games during 2025-26.
It's difficult to tell what is ailing Kane, as the team has been hush-hush about his injury. His absence will give forward Max Sasson a chance to make an impact in the lineup tonight as the Canucks will be facing-off against the Colorado Avalanche tonight at 8:30 P.M.
At this point in the year, the team is in tank mode, and one less impact player gives the team a great chance at a lottery pick in this year's NHL Draft.
