3 Anaheim Ducks Who Won't Be Back Next Season

The Anaheim Ducks were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs thanks to Mitch Marner and the Vegas Golden Knights. Their second-round exit is a small win for the Ducks, who are ahead of schedule with their development.

GM Pat Verbeek has some interesting decisions on his plate this season as the Ducks will have a few players who won't be back next season, while they also look to add a couple more game breakers via trades or free agency.

Here's three Ducks who aren't expected next season:

John Carlson

Carlson won't be going back to the Washington, that's 100% off the table, but at this point, many feel like he's going to test free agency to understand all of his options. From all accounts, Carlson enjoyed joining the Ducks this season once the shock wore off of getting dealt by the Caps. Carlson recorded six assists in 12 playoff games, while playing 24:02 of ice-time per contest.

Petr Mrazek

This is some low-hanging fruit as Mrazek hasn't been able to stay healthy at all throughout his career. The veteran netminder is a pending free agent and with the Ducks having two goalies under contract already for next season, expect to see them let Mrazek walk.

Mason McTavish

McTavish and the Ducks haven't seen eye-to-eye on ice-time, role, contract, and many other elements that actually make it surprising he lasted past March's trade deadline. Now, McTavish is at the top of every insiders trade board and is expected to be dealt at either the draft next month, or shortly ahead of free agency to give Verbeek a chance to reshape his top six.
