Dallas Stars Reject Multiple Trade Offers
Pierre LeBrun: Re Jason Robertson: There are people around the league...saying that this thing is so off the rails that Dallas is only focused on a trade, and I was told categorically that it is not true, the Stars are still trying to sign Robertson - Early Trading (6/25)
Robertson, 26, scored 45 goals and added 51 assists for 96 points, leading the Stars in scoring last season. He averaged over 20 minutes per game and is certainly in the prime of his career. Moving Robertson would be a huge risk for the Stars, who are likely not going to receive fair value in any trade involving the pending RFA.
The Ottawa Senators tried hard to acquire Robertson using their #9 overall pick they acquired from the Florida Panthers, but then decided to move the pick for William Eklund from the San Jose Sharks. The Detroit Red Wings tried to offer Dylan Larkin but that was shot down.
The Washington Capitals also had interest in Robertson, but decided to pounce on Jordan Kyrou and Alex Tuch. For now, Robertson is a Star, contract talks are ongoing, and all signs are pointing to a long-term deal being announced in the coming days.
