NHL Trade Rumors: Kings & Rangers Linked to Blockbuster Deal
Keep an eye on the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings on the trade market.
The two teams are going in opposite directions and are starting to align perfectly as offseason trade partners. Specifically, don't be surprised to see Vincent Trocheck heading west to the Kings, even though there's been reports he prefers to stay in the Eastern Conference. The Rangers have been shopping Trocheck all offseason, after they failed to facilitate a trade in season.
He said that before Laviolette got the job in LA.

Trocheck was Laviolette’s guy, he was the first guy over the boards in almost every scenario. Laviolette loves him.
I could see him rethinking that to go to LA and play with Panarin and Laviolette until his current contract… https://t.co/olYfLXIE40
Trocheck, 32, has three seasons left on his deal at a very affordable $5.6 million AAV, and his no-trade clause only protects him from 10 teams. As the Kings just hired Peter Laviolette, and with their interest in landing a top-line center, it makes a ton of sense to see these two teams linked together now at the hip.
The Kings could offer Quinton Byfield and give the Rangers a 23-year-old winger to help build around. The Kings would also have to give up their first-round pick, and perhaps even a second-rounder. While it won't be a four-piece Quinn Hughes type return, Trocheck is expected to fetch Chris Drury three building blocks in return.
Trocheck plays in all situations, he's one of the best two-way centers in the game, and given his history with Laviolette, this trade could pick up steam in the next few days.
