St. Louis Blues Rejecting Robert Thomas Trade Offers
Roster changes could be coming in St. Louis this summer, but don't expect to see the Blues move center Robert Thomas. According to multiple reports, the Blues have pulled Thomas off the trade market, despite being involved in trade conversations around the veteran center, dating back to January.
Thomas, 26, is signed for $8.1 million AAV until the 2031-32 season. Thomas owns a full no-trade clause and would have to approve any move. Thomas led the Blues in scoring last season, recording 25 goals and 64 points in 64 games, averaging 19 minutes of ice-time per game, including on both sides of special teams. The Blues had a disappointing season last year, so before March's trade deadline, there was a ton of speculation about Thomas being moved to either the Boston Bruins or Montreal Canadiens. Talk broke off, the Blues dealt Justin Faulk instead, and now enter an offseason of uncertainty outside of Thomas' future.
St. Louis is expected to hold onto Thomas, at least for now, but there's plenty of chatter around Jordan Kyrou and Jordan Binnington. Both are likely on the move this offseason, with the Seattle Kraken and New York Islanders interested in Kyrou, meanwhile Binnington has been linked to the New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers, and Edmonton Oilers.
Darren Dreger: There was a big deal I'm told that was down the road...included Mason McTavish going to the Blues, and I believe that Robert Thomas and Colton Parayko could've been part; Pavel Mintyukov, maybe Roger McQueen - Morning Show/Starr & McKenna (6/12)
While the Ducks tried hard to get Thomas, so too did the Minnesota Wild, but the Blues held firm on their asking price. Thomas stays, but don't be surprised to see a couple of significant moves coming from St. Louis this summer.
