Report: Flyers Eyeing Blockbuster Trade With Kraken
Di Marco reports the Flyers could explore trades involving more than one winger to try to find a top-six center, and one name Daily Faceoff has heard Philadelphia likes is Seattle’s Matty Beniers.
Di Marco wrote that there’s no indication at this time that Kraken GM Jason Botterill wants to move him.
A Winger Logjam Has Formed
The Flyers opened the season 0-6-3 and then won back-to-back games, the second against Colorado, with Porter Martone and Matvei Michkov combining for four goals and two assists over the last three games.
Trevor Zegras is now considered a winger going forward after moving back alongside Christian Dvorak, and recalled forwards Alex Bump and Cole Knuble are also in the mix, per Di Marco.
Travis Konecny is 29, in the second year of an eight-year, $70 million contract with an $8.75 million cap hit, and has just three assists in five games this season.
David Pagnotta: I don't get sense by any stretch that the Flyers are just trying to make a deal for the sake of doing it, but teams are calling, and some of the guys that they're primarily asking about are Travis Konecny and Owen Tippett - NHL Tonight (10/19)

Di Marco reported last week that the Flyers were considering asking Konecny to waive his no-movement clause if the season kept spiraling, and he now believes the team could explore a trade even if the results stay positive.
A Western Conference GM told Daily Faceoff that Konecny is viewed as the “better all-around player,” and Di Marco wrote that “the Flyers would get a lot of traction on Konecny if he were to open up his NMC and allow the team to really field offers.”
Owen Tippett is 27, carries a $6.2 million cap hit through 2032, has a 10-team no-trade list until 2030, and has one goal and one assist in nine games, though team sources said they’ve gotten more calls on him than Konecny historically.
Beniers, Foerster, And York Are The Other Names
Beniers is 23, was the second overall pick in 2021, and signed a seven-year, $50 million extension in 2024 that carries a $7.14 million cap hit through 2030-31.
He scored 20 goals and topped 50 points in 82 games last season.
Di Marco was told that Tippett plus a center prospect like Jett Luchanko, the 13th overall pick in 2024, would be a more appetizing package from the Flyers’ perspective.
A Kraken source told Daily Faceoff last week that Seattle likes Tyson Foerster, and while he isn’t a player the Flyers want to give up, a team source said he’d be a “conversation starter.”
Anthony Di Marco: The Flyers liked Caleb Desnoyers in that [2025] draft...and would have interest...if the Mammoth were open to moving him in a deal for Travis Konecny. Some may wonder about...Tij Iginla, but he isn’t a player the Flyers have interest in - Daily Faceoff (10/13)

Cam York’s name has also started to circulate as potentially available, Di Marco was told late Monday night, though he hasn’t been actively at the heart of trade talks.
York is 25, struggled before his injury, and is in the second year of a five-year deal with a $5.15 million cap hit and no trade protection, while rookie Oliver Bonk has averaged 20 minutes alongside Travis Sanheim in his first five games.
The Flyers entered Monday without five regulars, Foerster, Konecny, Tippett, Rasmus Ristolainen, and York, and Di Marco wrote there’s no indication at this time that Botterill wants to move the 2021 second overall pick.
