Alexander Semin Trade Rumors

Trade rumors continue to surround the Washington Capitals for the 2011-2012 NHL season. The Capitals are outside of a playoff spot and this is unexpected for an offensive packed team with stars such as Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom and Alexander Semin.

Semin is 27 years old and already looking to be on the decline. The once 40 goal scorer, has 5 goals so far this season and only 10 points in 24 games. He has been benched and his coach no longer knows how to motivate him. He is coming a UFA at the 2012 NHL trade deadline, and the Washington Capitals are looking to deal him soon and try to get a pick or prospect in return.

The Ottawa Senators, Winnipeg Jets, New Jersey Devils, St Louis Blues and LA Kings are inquiring about Alexander Semin.
