Penguins have an offer on the table for Matt Murray

Penguins GM, Jim Rutherford is one of the more open executives in the league and when he does his rounds with the media, he always gives candid answers. Recently Rutherford has done his share of appearances, and he was very honest when it came to his goalie situation. The offers keep rolling in.

The Penguins have offers on the table for Matt Murray at the moment (as we reported days ago), and it's believed to be from two western conference teams, the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers. The Penguins will consider all options on the return they get for their goalie, as the team is looking to shake up it's bottom two lines and defensive depth.

Murray is still only 26, has two Stanley Cup rings, and is a restricted free-agent heading into this off season, looking for a deal in at least the $6 million range.

The Penguins GM has been honest about not being able to keep both Murray and Tristan Jarry, so expect a deal at the draft, once all the teams are able to give the Pens their best offer.

Right now, Rutherford is scanning the market of non-playoff teams only, and it sounds like he's going to be patient with his goalie trade.
