Chicago Blackhawks: 2 Prospects Who Should Make The Team Next Season

Having a strong prospect pool is such an important thing, as it helps determine the future success of all NHL franchises. Although it is always nice to be competitive now, things changes rapidly and it truly is a young man's league. Therefore, it feels right to start a 32-team segment covering them. During it, we will be looking at two prospects from every NHL franchise who could become NHLers next season.

The Chicago Blackhawks will be the team discussed in this one. The Blackhawks had a busy summer, as they added Marc-Andre Fleury, Seth Jones and Tyler Johnson. These three will all be great veteran additions for the team, but these two prospects could also help the team this season, too. They will surely be fun to watch if so, as they each are former first-round picks.

Nicolas Beaudin D: This upcoming season should be the year where Nicolas Beaudin becomes a full-time NHLer. He suited up in 19 games with the Blackhawks and produced fairly well on the backend. He scored two goals and recorded six points. He also had two goals and 10 points in nine games with the Rockford IceHogs. At this stage, it is clear that the 21-year-old is ready for the NHL and Chicago should make it happen.

Lukas Reichel C/LW: At just 19-years-old, it seems that Lukas Reichel has a real shot of playing in the NHL next season already. He was drafted 17th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, so he is coming with high expectations. With Eisbären Berlin of DEL this past season, he scored 10 goals and recorded 27 points in 38 games. He also played for Germany in the World Championships and did very well in the process. In nine games, he scored two goals and had six points. This kind of production against NHL talent could be enough for the Blackhawks to give him a chance. At a minimum, we should at least see him get some time with the big-league club.
