Tampa Bay Lightning Defenseman To Miss Significant Time

Zach Bogosian will be missing the next four-to-six weeks for the Tampa Bay Lightning with a lower-body injury.

Bogosian signed a three-year, $2,550,000 contract with the Lightning this season and is expected to be a mainstay on their bottom-pair and penalty kill. Yet, now he is going to be out for a pretty notable amount of time. With the Lightning's depth a bit weaker this season, losing Bogosian is certainly not ideal.

Bogosian played last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 45 games with the Leafs, he had four assists. He also previously played for the Lightning and won a Stanley Cup with them in 2020.

For the time being, it seems that Andrej Sustr will have to step in for Bogosian. This is big news for the 30-year-old defenseman, as he last played at the NHL level during the 2018-19 season with the Ducks. He previously played 318 career games with the Lightning, so he certainly is familiar with the franchise.
