Canucks Place Defenseman On IR

The Vancouver Canucks will be down a defenseman, as they have placed Guillaume Brisebois on IR.

Brisebois was recently called up by the Canucks and made his regular season debut in December 16th's contest against the San Jose Sharks. In that game, he was held off the scoresheet and had a minus-1 rating. With the current rise of COVID-19 cases, it seemed like a good chance for the 24-year-old to get into some action, but now, he will be out for at least the next 10 days.

With the Abbotsford Canucks this season, Brisbois has recorded two assists in six contests. Overall, the sample size has been small, but he's looked solid enough.

Alas, this is a tough break for the young defenseman, as his opportunity to show the Canucks what he's capable of at the NHL level now has been paused. We will have to wait and see what Vancouver decides to do with him once he is fully healed.
