NHL Rumors: Another Team Interested In Evander Kane

Although many fans have been waiting for Evander Kane to officially sign with the Edmonton Oilers, it may not be definite now. According to Elliotte Friedman, the Washington Capitals have expressed interest in the winger, too.

When looking at how Washington has been playing lately, it may be time for them to make an addition to their roster. Over their last 10 games, they have won just four times, which is far below their standards. However, even with their current struggles, they still have a 23-10-9 and still have a pretty secure playoff spot. Yet, if this stretch of play continues, that could start to slowly change.

There's no question that Kane the player is quite good. In 56 games last season with the San Jose Sharks, he scored 22 goals and recorded 49 points. Adding another power forward to the roster could be beneficial for the team, and he'd be a nice fit for their top six. However, it always seems that he is causing some form of controversy, so they and all teams should keep that in mind if they pursue him. He had his contract terminated for a reason.

We will have to wait and see if Washington truly is okay with taking a gamble on Kane from here.
