Avalanche And Ducks Complete Blockbuster

The Colorado Avalanche have acquired Josh Manson from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Drew Helleson and a 2023 second-round pick. Anaheim will also be retaining 50% of Manson's salary.

With the trade deadline one week away, things have been pretty quiet. However, we finally have our first big swap of this ever-so-important week in the NHL.

Manson will be a fantastic addition to the Avalanche's defensive group. His strong defensive play and extreme degree of physicality will definitely come in handy when they make their push for the Stanley Cup. He should slot well on their second pair and penalty kill.

In 45 games this season, Manson has four goals, five assists, and an even rating. With that, he also has an impressive 116 hits to go along with 53 penalty minutes.

The Ducks have landed themselves a right-handed defenseman of their own in Helleson. The 20-year-old spent this season with Boston College, where he had four goals, 21 assists, and 30 penalty minutes. This is a very good prospect for the rebuilding Ducks to have.

Stay tuned for trades - it is clear that the Ducks are officially selling.
