Canadiens Sign Defenseman

The Montreal Canadiens have signed Otto Leskinen to a one-year, two-way contract. He will have a $750,000 cap hit at the NHL level.

Leskinen is a familiar face to the Canadiens, as he played six games for them between the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. He spent this season split between Jokerit of the KHL and Tappara of Liiga. In 45 games between the two leagues, he scored eight goals and recorded 23 points.

With the Canadiens rebuilding, there's no harm in giving Leskinen another shot. Let's see if the 25-year-old can make their NHL roster from here.
