NHL Rumors: Red Wings To Trade Young Forward

According to Frank Seravalli, the Detroit Red Wings could end up trading Filip Zadina this offseason.

Since being drafted sixth overall by the Red Wings, Zadina has not been able to develop into the top-six winger every scout envisioned he would be. After recording 19 points in 49 games during the 2020-21 season, his pace of production fell off dramatically. In 74 games on the year, he only had 24 points to go along with a minus-24 rating.

With the Red Wings having other prospects developing at a far faster rate, that could open the door to the team moving Zadina. This is especially true if a Zadina trade would help the team improve in other areas on their roster. Alas, let's see if GM Steve Yzerman opts to move the former first-round pick from here.
