Devils Sign Young Forward

The New Jersey Devils have signed restricted free agent Fabian Zetterlund to a one-year, two-way deal, worth $750K.

He will be an arbitration-eligible restricted free agent at the end of the contract.

The twenty-two-year-old forward was impressive in his short stint in the NHL this past season, scoring three goals and five assists in 14 games. Zetterlund was even more impressive for the Utica Comets of the AHL, however, scoring 24 goals and 28 assists in 58 games. In five playoff games, he potted two goals with six assists.

The young forward was quite a productive all-around forward in his brief time in the NHL last season, while playing third-line minutes. It will be interesting to see if he can make the roster out of training camp and sustain what he achieved last season.

Zetterlund was a third-round pick by the Devils in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
