Dallas Stars Top Forward to Miss Start of Training Camp

After scoring 41 goals and recording 79 points in 74 games for the Dallas Stars last season, Jason
Robertson remains without a new contract as we get closer to October. As a result, the 23-year-old will not be with the team at the start of training camp.

This is not ideal in the slightest, as Robertson is the Stars' top forward, and they need him in the lineup to be competitive in 2022-23. Yet, if things continue to stay stagnant with negotiations, it may get to a point where Robertson misses regular-season time. That is certainly something that the Stars want to avoid.

The Stars currently have over $6 million of cap space, so they have cash to work with. It will be intriguing to see what kind of deal Robertson gets from them. Ideally, the Stars would love to sign him long-term, but if this mess continues, they may have to settle for a bridge deal. Alas, until something is finalized, don't expect to see Robertson at camp.
