NHL Rumors: Dallas Stars Linked to St. Louis Blues Star

The Dallas Stars are currently one of the top teams in the Western Conference, so they are expected to be among the league’s buyers at this year's trade deadline. Although they certainly have put together a strong year, it is clear that they also could use some upgrades with their current roster. They certainly can use another top-six forward, so don’t be surprised to see them make a push for St. Louis Blues veteran Vladimir Tarasenko.

It has been over a year since Tarasenko requested a trade from the Blues, but he has yet to be moved. However, now that he is a pending unrestricted free agent and the Blues are not guaranteed to make the playoffs, he could have his wish fulfilled before the deadline passes. Several teams are expressing interest in him already, but when noting that the Stars could use another star in their lineup, we should expect them to join the sweepstakes.

Alas, we will have to wait and see if Dallas ends up being the lucky club that acquires Tarasenko before the deadline passes.
