NHL Rumors: Blackhawks Receiving Trade Offers on 2 Players

While a lot of the interest out of Chicago is on Blackhawks legends Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, and rightly so, the team has been receiving trade calls on a couple of their defensemen.

According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Blackhawks are expected to be sellers at the March 3 trade deadline and have been receiving trade calls on defensemen Jake McCabe and Connor Murphy.

The Blackhawks are open to just about any form of business and had even discussed All-Star Seth Jones with the Ottawa Senators earlier this season. As for Murphy and McCabe, both at 29 years old, and have term left on their deal.

McCabe is signed through the 2024-25 season at $4 million annually, meanwhile Murphy's contract goes through the 2025-26 season at $4.4 million per season. Seravalli points out that the Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Los Angeles Kings are interested.

McCabe is known for his physical play and can also chip in with a little bit of offense, recording 14 points in 45 games this season. Meanwhile Murphy has only seven points through 48 games. Both Blackhawks' blueliners have modified no-trade clause as Murphy's covers 10 teams and McCabe's seven.
