Boston Bruins Rumors: Defenseman to be Shopped

For much of this season, the Boston Bruins shopped Mike Reilly, but they were unable to find him a new home. As a result, they are expected to shop him this summer again.

This should not come as a surprise to anyone, as the Bruins are heading into the summer with limited cap space, and moving Reilly and his $3 million cap hit would be massive. Furthermore, it is clear that the Chicago native would welcome a change of scenery, as he the vast majority of this season with the Providence Bruins due to his expensive cap hit.

Reilly has shown that he is an effective bottom-pairing defenseman at the NHL level, so there could be interest in him. The major kicker, however, is that the Bruins are going to need to give up a draft pick or two to any team that is willing to bring in Reilly. This is because of Boston's well-documented cap trouble.

Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see if Reilly ends up being dealt from here. If moved, it would be beneficial for both the player and the team.
