NHL Announces Big Changes to 2024 All-Star Weekend

The NHL's All-Star Weekend is set for Toronto in February and it sounds like the league is bringing back some fan favorites for this season's big weekend.

The NHL has decided to bring back the player draft it used several years ago, remember back in 2011 when Phil Kessel was laughed at for being the last pick and then ended up winning a new car? The league is expanding this season's festivities and it now will span three days instead of two.

Toronto is set to host for the first time in a couple decades and the 'new/old' player draft is set for Thursday Feb.1. The skills competition will take place on the Friday with a three-on-three tournament set for Saturday.

Each division will have a captain and will pick their players to load up each roster and then the rosters will be finalized by fan voting. It does sound like each division will have a captain and a celebrity captain who will bring a new element to the draft.

The NHL is also partnering with the PWHL and will showcase the women's game on the Thursday night.
