NHL News: Winnipeg Jets Captain Adam Lowry To Miss Chunk of 2025-26 Season

It didn't seem evident at any point this season, but Winnipeg Jets captain Adam Lowry had been playing through a hip injury that was serious enough to have required surgery this week that will keep him out of action for "five to six months."

At best, under that timeline, he could be back at the end of October, but on the long end of the rehab schedule, he might not return until the end of November, or even a bit later.

The 32-year-old St. Louis, Missouri native has spent his entire career with the Jets, and has been an ironman of sorts in recent years, having missed a total of only 13 games over the last four seasons combined. He set a career-high this season with 16 goals, to go with 34 points in 73 games. He also set a personal best with a plus/minus rating of +18, while skating an average of 15:26 of ice time per game. He also handed out 140 hits with his 6'5", 210-pound frame.

Adam Lowry to be out 5-6 months after surgery, will miss start of 2025-26 season

It was never revealed that Lowry was suffering from any ailment, and his playoff performance certainly didn't indicate that anything was amiss, as he upped his TOI to 17:27, threw 61 hits in 13 games, and scored the biggest goal of his career with the double-overtime winner in Game 7 of Winnipeg's first round series victory over the St. Louis Blues.

Lowry's leadership will be missed in Winnipeg until he's able to get back into the lineup next season.
