NHL Rumors: 3 New York Rangers Who Could Be Traded Next

After months of being a top name in the rumor mill, Chris Kreider was finally traded by the New York Rangers. The Anaheim Ducks won the sweepstakes, and the veteran forward will now look to have a bounce-back season with the Pacific Division club from here.

The Rangers are likely not done yet, as they are expected to continue to make changes to their group after their bad 2024-25 season. Due to this, let's discuss three Rangers who could be traded next.

K'Andre Miller

Miller is continuing to create plenty of chatter with the summer here. The Rangers are listening to offers for the pending restricted free agent, and it seems likely that he will get dealt. Teams looking for a top-four defenseman for their left side should be calling.

Alexis Lafreniere

Lafreniere is another Ranger who has been creating plenty of chatter in the rumor mill. The 2020 first-round pick has struggled with consistency in New York and could benefit from a change of scenery at this point. The 23-year-old would be a nice pickup for a team looking to boost their top six, but he also has a $7.45 million cap hit until the end of 2031-32.

Carson Soucy

Soucy should also be watched this off-season. The veteran defenseman had his struggles after being traded to the Blueshirts this campaign, and he is picking up some steam in the rumor mill because of it. Teams looking for more size and experience on their blueline could consider taking a chance on the 6-foot-5 defenseman.
