NHL Rumors: Insider Projects Massive Next Contract For Wild's Kirill Kaprizov
Kaprizov's Next Deal Could Break Records And Stay in Minnesota
According to TSN insider Chris Johnston, Kaprizov’s next deal could exceed Leon Draisaitl’s league-high $14 million AAV. Johnston believes the 28-year-old could command as much as $15 million per year, reflecting his status as one of the premier forwards in the league, a rising cap environment, and the Wild’s desperation to retain their franchise cornerstone.

Daily Faceoff’s Anthony Di Marco echoed similar projections, predicting a minimum of $13.5 million annually, making Kaprizov the highest-paid winger in NHL history. While he may not top Connor McDavid's upcoming number, experts agree that Kaprizov is due for a historic payday. The cap is climbing, and this is likely his final major contract during his prime.

Luckily for Minnesota, the new CBA gives the Wild an edge. While other teams will be limited to six-year offers starting next summer, the Wild can still offer an eight-year deal now. That advantage, plus Kaprizov’s stated love for Minnesota and GM Bill Guerin’s ongoing talks with his camp, suggest a deal is very possible, though not yet guaranteed.
