NHL Trade Rumors: Maple Leafs Interested In Blues' Jordan Kyrou

The Toronto Maple Leafs are exploring all options to reshape their top six after losing Mitch Marner to the Vegas Golden Knights in free agency, and their latest target is a bold one.

Multiple reports confirm that Toronto has shown serious interest in acquiring St. Louis Blues All-Star forward Jordan Kyrou, who is rumored to be on the trade block this offseason. With his no-trade clause kicking in on July 1, the Maple Leafs reportedly tried to make a move before that deadline passed, but nothing materialized. Still, the interest remains.

Kyrou Could Be the Marner Replacement Leafs Desperately Need

Jordan Kyrou would immediately bring high-end skill and scoring touch to a Leafs team searching for answers. He’s coming off a 70-point season with 36 goals and 34 assists, and he was one of the few bright spots for the Blues during their seven-game playoff loss to the Winnipeg Jets

The 26-year-old has produced 332 points in 403 games over seven seasons with St. Louis and is signed through 2031 with an $8.13 million AAV. That’s not cheap, but his speed and offensive instincts make him a strong candidate to slot in alongside Auston Matthews and John Tavares.

Trade Could Signal New Direction for Toronto

NHL insider David Pagnotta confirmed on Leafs Morning Take that Toronto “poked around” on Kyrou, and while talks didn’t get serious, the Leafs clearly see him as a fit. With the free-agent market drying up, Toronto already missed on Brock Boeser and Brad Marchand, general manager Brad Treliving is expected to stay aggressive on the trade front.
