From Kings Rookie to Two-Time Cup Winner
Drafted 35th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in 2009, Clifford became a regular in their lineup by the 2010–11 season. He won two Stanley Cups with L.A., contributing in both the 2012 and 2014 playoff runs.
After nearly a decade in Los Angeles, Clifford was traded to the Maple Leafs in 2020, later spending time with the St. Louis Blues before returning to Toronto in 2021. His NHL career concluded in 2022, with his final seasons spent as an alternate captain for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
Well, it's the end of an era... And this one hits a little harder than many others.

Mentorship Role with the Maple Leafs
Clifford’s gritty playing style and veteran presence made him a respected figure in the locker room, qualities that will now serve him well in player development. He joins a department that already features former NHLers like Jake Muzzin and Nik Antropov.
