St. Louis Blues sign Cam Fowler to multi-year contract extension
The St. Louis Blues have locked up Cam Fowler.
The Blues announced they've locked up the veteran defenceman to a three-year contract worth $6.1 million average annual value. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman was first to report the news as Fowler was entering the final year of his current contract, which he signed as a member of the Anaheim Ducks.
The Blues acquired Fowler back in December after he was with the Ducks for 15 seasons. Last season he had four assists in 17 games with the Ducks before being dealt, and then posted 36 points in 51 games in a bounce back second half with his new club. It was obvious the change of scenery and new opportunity was exactly what the doctor ordered. His new deal carries a no-trade clause, which converts to a 15-team no-trade clause in the final season of the deal.

Fowler, 33, has been playing a ton with Colton Parayko on the Blues top unit and he could be lined up for a 50-point season if he stays healthy in 2025-26. Fowler was originally the 12th overall pick by the Ducks back in 2010.
Fowler heads into this season after a great second half with the Blues, and a great showing in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, as he notched 10 points in the first round of the playoffs, but unfortunately, the Blues lost to the Winnipeg Jets in seven games.
With Fowler locked up, keep an eye on Philip Broberg, who is a pending restricted free agent and likely the next Blues' defenceman to be locked up long term.
