NHL Trade Rumors: 2 Teams Have Inquired About Sabres' Alex Tuch
The Buffalo Sabres have won two of their last three games, but the Alex Tuch trade chatter has not cooled.
After Tuch’s agent Brian Bartlett said extension talks are on the back burner, league sources told RG.org’s Jimmy Murphy that the Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers have already inquired about the winger’s availability.
Buffalo still wants to keep Tuch long term, yet with talks paused, general manager Kevyn Adams is taking calls while he gauges the standings.
Alex Tuch is a PERFECT fit for the #NHLBruins. 30 goals 2 of the last 3 seasons, 10 plus PP points in those years, and has the size and profile Boston likes (6’4, 219). Tuch would seamlessly fill the massive hole in the team’s forward group. Sweeney MUST be in on him https://t.co/hVziIV0x5e

Tuch, 29, is in the final season of his seven year deal at a tidy 4.75 million cap hit. He opened with four points in five games, and his price tag this year makes him a clean add for contenders.
Why Boston and Edmonton are calling
The Boston Bruins need a top six finisher to jump start a slow scoring start. Tuch gives them size, rush threat and net presence on the right side with cost certainty this season.
The Edmonton Oilers are chasing one more impact winger to balance scoring behind Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Tuch’s straight line game fits either star center and his cap number is manageable for a team tight to the ceiling.

Buffalo’s preference is to re-sign Tuch.
If the Sabres stay in the race, executives around the league expect Adams to treat him like an internal rental. If they slide, sources suggest real talks would ramp closer to the Olympic break or the trade deadline.
That timing preserves leverage, keeps the door open for an extension, and invites a bidding war if the Sabres pivot.
