Canadiens' Dach Calls Out Senators' Sebrango After Getting Jumped

It's only preseason but tempers are flaring across the NHL.

It was a strange night in Quebec City, as Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach was jumped towards the end of the game by Ottawa Senators defenceman Donovan Sebrango.

"Strange play. It's not a hockey play," Dach said. "It's definitely something that if you did it out on the street, you'd be in a lot of trouble."

The Sens were down 5-0 so perhaps Sebrango let his frustration get the best of him. He was assessed a five-minute major for fighting, a two-minute minor for instigating, and a 10-minute misconduct on the play. The Canadiens received a seven-minute power play to finish the game.

It was quite the fight night in Quebec after nine majors were handed out, on top of seven misconducts. The Sens finished the game with 102 PIMS, meanwhile the Canadiens tallied 50.

"Listen, you see what kind of lineup their coach wanted to play, it is what it is," Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher said. "We're aware. I thought we did a pretty good job of sticking up for each other and just playing hockey. It's what we're here for. If they want to do other things, that's fine. I thought we did a good job tonight."
