Video: Jordan Binnington Fuming, Barks at Coach After Being Pulled
St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington has had his name all over the rumor mill as a trade candidate. Now he's the focus of attention for his actions after being pulled early in the first period Monday night—barking at head coach Jim Montgomery and storming off to the locker room.

A goalie will usually plunk himself down at the end of the bench after getting pulled mid-period. Not Binnington in this case. He left the bench and didn't return for the rest of the period.
The Anaheim Ducks put two past Binnington early in the first period on just five shots, and Monty stepped in to pull him just 10:24 into the game. Specifically after this bad goal:

As for what was said, the netminder wasn't made available to the media after the game, but his coach illuminated the gathered press:
Jim Montgomery on Jordan Binnington barking at him when pulled: "You know, I love Jordan Binnington. He's a competitor, he raises his games in the big moments all the time. I love him. He walked off the ice, he said, 'I love you.' I said, 'I love you too.' (CONT) #stlblues

"You know, I love Jordan Binnington. He's a competitor, he raises his games in the big moments all the time. I love him. He walked off the ice, he said, 'I love you.' I said, 'I love you too.'
"We're both competitors by nature, and at the end of the period, he waited for me, we apologized, we moved on. It's over and done with."
The goalie finally spoke about the incident on Tuesday:
"You prepare for a game and you're going in thinking you're playing 60 minutes, you plan on playing 60 minutes. As an athlete and competitor, that's what you want to do. I felt good. It's unfortunate."
Binnington, 32, has been rumored to be a trade target for the Edmonton Oilers, but this kind of drama is the last thing the Oilers need between the pipes at this point.
The Blues' backstop has an .878 save percentage and a 3.20 goals against average this season.
