4 Teams Involved in Tyler Myers Trade Update
The Vancouver Canucks are trying to execute their next trade. But they'll need some cooperation from a player first. They pulled longtime defenseman Tyler Myers from the lineup for their game Wednesday night, for trade-related purposes. We've now learned that the Detroit Red Wings had a trade offer on the table with Vancouver for Myers, but the 6'8" d-man has a full no-move clause in his contract, and he hasn't yet agreed to any deal.
Tyler Myers continues to consider a trade option. It’s believed Detroit is the target. Other teams have expressed interest, including Dallas. Likely why Myers is taking his time in allowing the process to develop.

It's known that Myers wanted to remain in Vancouver for the duration of the season. And according to insider Rick Dhaliwal, Myers actually took less on his three-year, $3M AAV extension with the Canucks signed in 2024 in order to secure the no-move. Now he's using it, as he has every right to.
And while Dreger mentioned the Dallas Stars as another team that's interested, Dhaliwal has named at least two other clubs in the mix.
"A lot of interest in Myers. Dallas, Colorado, Anaheim.."@DhaliwalSports recaps the last 24 hours with Tyler Myers and the latest on where a potential trade sits.https://t.co/h4e2SKM7eJ pic.twitter.com/ZOu0hJ3aYG

"Very interesting last 24-48 hours," said Dhaliwal. "A lot of interest in Myers. Dallas, Colorado, Anaheim, a lot of teams poking around. He's going to take his time."
There were 17 scouts in attendance at the Canucks/Jets game last night, and though they didn't get to see Myers play, there are several other trade candidates on both of those teams.
The insider feels the Canucks would be looking for a second-round pick in exchange for Myers. The 36-year-old is in his 17th NHL season and his 7th with the Canucks, and was hoping to finish his career in Vancouver. It doesn't seem as if that'll be the case now.
