6 Potential Jordan Kyrou Trade Destinations
The St. Louis Blues could end up trading Jordan Kyrou, whether that be before the trade deadline or in the offseason. He has strong trade value and is a good scorer for any top-6, but he is looking to win and has control over the destination he goes to if the Blues were to move him.
Kyrou has scored 30+ goals and recorded 70+ points in three of the past four seasons. His ice time has dropped from previous seasons and I doubt he gets to either mark this season because of injury that has kept him out 10 games and also since the production of all of the Blues has been down in a bad season. If the Blues do trade Kyrou, expect a good package back and these six teams to be involved in conversations.
Washington Capitals
The Washington Capitals are swinging for top players as they tried to go after Quinn Hughes and Artemi Panarin. They see Alex Ovechkin is nearing the end of his career in the NHL, and whether the Capitals are able to grab a high-end player this season or in the offseason, they are planning on staying competitive and replacing what they're going to lose with Ovechkin. Kyrou can be a piece that helps with that due to his scoring ability. Nothing will be the same as The Great 8, but the team has been slowly acquiring talent to replace the old guard. Washington is only four points out of a playoff spot and are getting healthy.
Pittsburgh Penguins
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been retooling well over the past couple of years and Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and the others aren't done yet. This is a good mix of veterans and younger players as the team is second in their division and looks primed to make it back to the playoffs. There is a need for a top-6 talent and which team couldn't use more scoring with a ton of cap space to work with? Kyrou could fit in well on Malkin's wing so that he gets a little better linemates to match what Crosby has with Rickard Rakell and Byran Rust.
Carolina Hurricanes
It's tough to tell who will fit in the Carolina Hurricanes' system well. Mikko Rantanen didn't, but Logan Stankoven has. It would be unknown until he actually got there and integrated into the lineup with the system, but the Hurricanes are always on the hunt for major upgrades with the cap space they have to finally bring home the Stanley Cup again. The East is wide open and they are once again a top team that could send plenty of assets back in return for Kyrou.
Detroit Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings are in a position to go for it after the team has finally proven without a doubt that they deserve additions to the lineup ahead of the trade deadline. The Red Wings are top-3 in their division and have tons of cap space as well. They could also use the to-6 and scoring upgrade as just four players have over 10 goals this season. A type of move like this would keep high confidence in the Yzerplan.
Seattle Kraken
The Seattle Kraken have also been trying to bring in a star as they were reportedly seriously in on Panarin. They need more scoring and high-end talent, and Kyrou possesses that. He isn't a superstar, but is someone who can consistently put up offense. The Kraken are 24th in the league in goals scored and with veterans up front that may be leaving and will be declining, fresh blood needs to be brought in. With five years left on his deal, Seattle can afford the cap hit and would like the term.
Winnipeg Jets
With where the Winnipeg Jets are this season, it would be even tougher to convince Kyrou to go there for the remainder of his contract, but the pieces are there for the team to still compete, just not his season. 11 points is extremely tough to overcome at this point of the season, but the scoring depth has been horrible this season for Winnipeg. Kyrou is exactly what they need, especially to make up for the loss of Nikolaj Ehlers that they suffered last offseason. There are only three forwards with over 10 goals on the Jets. Kyrou would instantly be a huge help.
