All Things Quiet Around Flames' Forward
The Calgary Flames should have a lot on the table in terms of players that are available to trade this season, and already started their trading early by moving Rasmus Andersson and acquiring a first-round pick, second-round pick, and Zach Whitecloud.
In terms of the players that have had some noise around them, the list includes Nazem Kadri, Blake Coleman, and even Mackenzie Weegar dominantly, but nothing on Yegor Sharangovich, whether that means there's no interest or the Flames are interested in keeping him.
David Pagnotta said, "Really the only name right now where I haven't heard to much around is Yegor Sharangovich."
The 27-year-old is in the first of a five-year deal at $5.75 million AAV and has 11 goals and 20 points in 52 games, so all that is a big contributor as to why teams aren't lining up to trade for him, and why the Flames may not even think he can be traded at this point for any value.
Along with that, Sharangovich has a 10-team no-trade list. Given what he has been able to do in some of his prior seasons in the NHL, there is more that he can give. But it will be tough on a Flames team that doesn't have a lot of offense or offensive weapons. He was expected to be one of those weapons as he scored 31 goals and recorded 59 points in his first season with the Flames.
Nobody on the Flames has more than 14 goals this season, so it's tough for someone like Sharangovich to really get the help in putting up the goals and points that he is capable of and would be worthy of some interest. Maybe in a couple of years if he and/or the Flames can turn things around will he then be a more tradeable piece. But for now, don't expect Sharangovich to go anywhere.
